We are currently looking to recruit an Apprentice Cyber Security Specialist to join us at the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) as the work we do continues to expand!

What is the role?
As an apprentice, you will develop the skills and knowledge to be responsible for:
Maintain Cyber tracking information including Asset Management, Configuration Management, Threat Protection and ComplianceHelp to ensure the security of client and server computers and mobile devices by advising on Security updates and addressing vulnerabilitiesMonitor security measures for the protection of the organisations data, systems, and networkMaintaining and updating technical documentation regularly, including Policies and ProceduresAdvising staff on Best Practice for Cyber SecurityRespond to system and/or network security breachesTesting and identifying network and system vulnerabilitiesOn a daily basis, you will primarily be working with the IT systems colleagues and the IT Support Team leader. You will also be working with Information Technology Suppliers, Cyber Security suppliers and advisors (e.g. NCSC) and colleagues and stakeholders from across NIHR including other coordinating centres.
As part of your Apprenticeship, you will receive the necessary support to grow your skill set during the job, working with senior colleagues who will mentor and train you.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, pay will be the lowest spine point of Level 3, which is Spine Point 22, £27,929 full-time equivalent.
In year one of the apprenticeship, pay will be 60 per cent of this lowest spine point value, £16,757.40, before increasing to 70 per cent in year two and to 80 per cent in year three.
* NB - Notwithstanding the provisions set out above, all apprentices will receive a salary which equates to at least the applicable National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for their age, where this exceeds those contractual provisions.
