Purpose of Job
Associate, Operations Banking, is a subject matter expert (SME) on all products for which the team covers. The Associate is responsible for the training and mentoring of junior team members and the funding and timely settlement/management of EBRD’s Banking products across global markets.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Manages Banking Bond and Equity transactions across EBRD’s Countries of Operations and major Global markets i.e. U.S., Euroclear and Canada. Draft legal agreement review, set up in internal systems, settlement and corporate actions. Manages the Banking Collateral portfolio. Reviews and signs off on the accuracy of other team members work Provides professional guidance and resolution to internal and external clients, by being the main point of contact throughout a transaction to ensure there is no misalignment between policy and practice and takes responsibility for settlement completion. Conducts analysis of issues on multiple products to understand the underlying risks and takes responsibility for issue resolution. Challenges existing processes and practices to identify compliance issues and recommends appropriate action Trains and mentors other more junior team members across a number of tasks Prepares draft manuals based on the accepted changes to policies and procedures, to ensure that the books are up to date and reflect the new policies Interprets IT systems to satisfy business requirements from multiple internal teams Contributes to the development of procedures on all products to ensure the function best responds to the Bank’s needs Produces work in compliance with Bank’s Internal Controls Framework Deputises for the Principal Manager in their absence. Sole representation of their team at meetings with Treasury, Legal and Banking teams to provide financial guidance and support on settlement of high-level transaction across multiple products. Keep up to date with evolving market practices in our countries of operation.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Preferably a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in business, finance or law, from a leading university in a country of Operations. Fluent English language skills, both verbal and written. Additional relevant language would be beneficial Ability to influence decision making during deal negotiations Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate tasks effectively to meet deadlines Extensive Banking/Treasury product knowledge is essential to settle trades in any of the global markets. Confident and articulate spokesperson for team with ability to influence Wider knowledge and understanding of the Bank as a whole, outside of relevant team/department Strong computer skills with emphasis on Excel Experience with Frameworks, Summit, SAP and SWIFT systems Significant experience in a relevant Operations department Experience of interpreting legal documentation
