Care and Support Assistant – Part Time

30 hours per week – shift pattern will be on a 2-week rolling rota including every other weekend
We are seeking a Care and Support Assistant to join us in making a real difference to the lives of our residents. You will be integral to ensuring they lead a happy and fulfilled lifestyle. We offer a very supportive induction process, ensuring you will have all the encouragement you need to learn the role.
Located in a quiet area of Trowbridge close to Southwick Country Park, our newly refurbished residential care home consists of 14 bedrooms in the main building and 3 further bedrooms in two bungalows, adjacent to the main home. It has been designed specifically around the needs of our residents. Shaftesbury Court provides residential care and support for adults aged 18 to 65, who have a range of learning disabilities and physical disabilities.

The role of Care and Support Assistant will include:
Following care plans and writing comprehensive care notes Providing a high quality, personalised care and support service including the sensitive delivery of personal care and managing medication Helping residents to get up, washed and dressed Supporting residents to go to into the local community e.g. going to the cinema, visiting friends and attending doctors appointments Promoting a positive culture by engaging with residents to prevent social isolation Working with residents and other staff members to ensure a clean and comfortable environment Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments
Skills and experiences:
Prior experience delivering personal care NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is essential Ability to work well both as part of a team and on own initiative Ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of residents Excellent organisation skills
