We are seeking a Care and Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Old Milton Road is located in the centre of New Milton and within walking distance of the seafront. We provide care and support for 10 adults aged 18 and over, who have learning disabilities by enabling them to live as independently as possible. The service contains a shared house and 5 individual flats.
We value our team and encourage learning and progression through our comprehensive induction programme, as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Care and Support Assistant will include:Key working with individuals to support them in setting out a care and support plan Following care plans and writing comprehensive care notes Providing a high quality, personalised care and support service including the sensitive delivery of personal care and managing medication Helping residents to get up, washed and dressed Supporting residents to go to into the local community e.g. visits to local shops and cafes, visiting friends and attending doctors appointments Promoting a positive culture by engaging with residents to prevent social isolation Working with residents and other staff members to ensure a clean and comfortable environment Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments
Skills and experiences:Prior experience delivering personal care is desirable A kind, caring nature Ability to work well both as part a team and on own initiative Ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of residents Excellent organisation skills NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is desirable
