Clyde

The Change Delivery Project Engineer is based within our Clyde business area.

As the Ministry of Defence’s commercial partner at HMNB Clyde, Babcock provides specialist engineering support services, including the management of infrastructure and nuclear facilities. We also deliver operational maintenance, upgrades and repairs to support Royal Navy vessels, including the Vanguard and Astute-Class nuclear submarines.

The role

The difference our new Change Delivery Project Engineer will make As a Change Delivery Project Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary providing alterations to time cost and quality to onboard naval vessels design changes.

Day to day, you’ll provide comprehensive engineering expertise to oversee and control all aspects of Alterations & Additions (A&A) installations and Class Modifications carried out by installation contractors on vessels during Fleet Time maintenance periods ensuring programme is completed to agreed timelines.

The team specialise in project managing all engineering aspects which includes costs and planning and delivery of design changes from head upgrades to combat systems.

This role sits within Fleet Engineering operations

Essential experience

• Experience in mechanical or marine engineering, • Experience of maintenance planning processes.

Soft Skills • Need to have great communication skills • Attention to quality and detail • Good self-motivation and being a Team player • Excellent report and record keeping writing skills

Qualifications • HNC or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline • You will hold or have the ability to obtain SC clearance
