The Cluster Manager role is pivotal to the provision of early help and preventative support for families with young children. We are looking for a passionate, dedicated person to join the Children’s Centre leadership team to support continuous service improvement by leading a team and managing a busy Children’s Centre in Hedon and managing two Centre Leaders working in Hornsea and Withernsea and surrounding reach area to enhance the Early Help and Prevention work being delivered in Children’s Centres.
East Riding Children’s Centres are responsible for delivering, coordinating and supporting a range of services for children and their parents and carers, from pregnancy to age 5 years. The service delivers and supports high quality early education, family support service for families with children up to the age of 9 years old and offers a pathway of services with a focus on the 1001 critical days. In addition to the Early Help and Prevention offer for families, Children’s Centres are also responsible for facilitating supervised Family Time (Family Contact) for children who are looked after.
The successful candidate will:
Have the drive and ambition to lead a team and the development of the Children’s Centre in response to local need to deliver effective preventative services for families.Lead change, be innovative and be solution-focused.Contribute towards service development within a multi-agency context.Have the ability to effectively engage with partner agencies to develop an integrated service.Enable and sustain highly effective partnerships working with a wide range of services and organisations within the locality (e.g. schools, PVI settings, midwifery, GPs, and voluntary sector organisations), leading and coordinating a Locality Partnerships.Use data and information and working with families and communities to develop an in-depth understanding of the needs of families in the locality, ensuring there is a coherent and responsive pathway of services from pregnancy to age 5, to meet need and improve outcomes.Manage a staff team and effectively support and supervise staff in their role.Need to be familiar with the policy and guidance related to Children’s Centres and Family HubsAbout you:
Must hold a degree level qualification in childcare, social work, education or healthcareExperience of working with familiesYou will be an inspirational leader and an exemplary practitioner who can motivate and challenge staff to provide good quality practice for families in diverse communities.Have some awareness of Children Centre services and be willing to further enhance your knowledge in this area.Understand the importance of role modelling and mentoring within the team.Be organised, enthusiastic, flexible and inspirational for the team you lead with lots of energy.Be able to prioritise your workload and work to deadlines, in a fast-paced demanding role.Have excellent skills in building effective teams, using your initiative, be forward thinking.You will be joining a dynamic leadership team who work in a high support and high challenge environment, who are committed to deliver the best service to our community and are proud to have achieved the UNICEF Baby Friendly Gold Award.
