About the Role

Are you passionate about new technologies? Do you know how cloud native solutions have to be designed to be resilient? Are you interested in bringing the next level of IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) into one of the leading Reinsurers in the world? If this sounds like you, then you just might be the perfect fit for our team!

Your role as Cloud Architect is central to drive core decisions in developing and applying testing concepts and roadmaps for appropriate Disaster Recovery (DR). You will support to shape our group wide DR Management program establishing best practice measures. This will include providing technical expertise to tech domain teams in group-wide collaboration focussing on on continuity capabilities driven by architecture, application design, hosting environment and service- as well as operating- models.

In this role, you will be able to:

Apply Cloud Architecture Insights to Disaster Recovery program and evaluate new technologies supporting DR measures in scaled and automated environments.

Act as technical advisor to support our customers in the functional search for new ideas and solutions and support the product owner as interface to our technical teams.

Closely collaborate with Business and Tech Domains to ensure adequate Service and Application Designs including appropriate DR measures.

Analyse, evaluate, and determine arising InfoTech trends and needs for ITSCM and DR capabilities

Develop and design testing concepts to cater for DR technology and responsibility shifts (continuous testing, synthetic user transactions, SaaS, Infrastructure as Code).

Foster E2E IT Value Chain understanding on DR Capability in IT Solution architecture in a multi-vendor and multi-cloud environment.

Establish Dependency View for ITSCM Relevancy and evaluate IT Systems for recovery prioritization and phases.

About the Team

The ITSCM Squad is bringing together insights from multiple sources to centralize and automate our resiliency capabilities as well as driving service governance and optimize service operation processes. We are a multi-functional and growing multi-national team, spread currently over Slovakia, Switzerland, and India.

We develop and maintain ITSCM capabilities to mitigate the risk of unavailability and restoring Critical IT Services in the event of a major disruption with minimal impact to Swiss Re's business processes. Our team ensures that these are effectively embedded within the organization and cater to the needs of a more federated IT landscape, Cloud technology and DevSecOps & AIOps practices.

We want to achieve this mission by:

Implementing sustainable DR oversight, strategies, plans, trainings and tests, while ensuring these are optimally embedded and maintained within the organization

Maintaining an effective ITSCM framework providing group-wide direction, implementation oversight and advice, supporting BCM, safeguarding important services.

Partnering up in trusted relationships with Group and Business Domain teams, presenting a central entry point for ITSCM guidance.

About You

Architecture, Design, hands on experience in creating cloud native solutions

Experience in disaster recovery design principles

Ability to look at problems from multiple perspectives

Identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement and actions that improve enterprise resilience

Understanding in the thread-offs of different solutions and standard methodologies with regards to resiliency, reliability, and availability

Experience in developing technical requirements for BCP / DR Plans

Good understanding and applied expertise in DR Testing concepts

English proficiency is a must

TOGAF, CBCP, DRCS or BRCCI certifications are a plus
