This Leadership role will ensure we have an effective partnership with Defra Corporate Services. You'll be working across departments internally and across Defra to ensure professional corporate services are delivered to the EA. Strong contract management skills are essential and the ability to negotiate across complex and competing priorities. You will: - lead our strategic partnership with Defra Corporate Services working with EA intelligent partners and customers, including risk management, and ensuring the needs of the EA are met.- commission and work with corporate functions and services, assessing current and future business needs.- prioritise and manage rapidly changing or emerging situations.- take proactive assurance to identify, minimise and address risk.- strong commercial awareness and have contract and programme management experience.- excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills.- build high quality relationships and provide influential support to senior leaders.- help develop the new CMAS team and play an active role in developing the wider SSO and COO department. You'll have first class communication skills. You will already have the skills and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.You'll also have experience of leading and motivating a high-performing team and be able to work collaboratively with others to deliver results. You must be comfortable working with senior people and be able to manage multiple priorities and competing demands on yourself and your team.You must have the ability to stay calm under pressure and react to a fast-changing environment is essential. You will have an understanding of the needs of others and how the EA contributes to a healthy and successful Defra.
