Salary: Up to £40,000 (Depending On Experience)

Work Pattern: 37.5 Hours Per Week
Location: Merchants Warehouse, Manchester - (Hybrid Working)
The Role:
The provisioning of data for Well’s Data Platform is a key enabler to effective decision making within the business. The Data Engineer role is key to this, designing and building data models & ETL pipelines to make data available to stakeholders.
You'll be helping to exploit the data we have from multiple data sources to understand & improve complex data journeys. Development on our new SQL data platform and the integration of new tools, data sources and modelling pipelines to enhance our capability as we go through this exciting period of transition
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the configuration of a new SQL data platform to enable advanced Analytics & Reporting to be developed and productionised Collaborate closely with IT and the Data owners to establish data flows into the platform Deliver value-prioritised analytics projects on behalf of internal customers Manage ETL development and automation (e.g. setting up scheduled pipelines, identifying efficiencies throughout, championing version control) Develop the ETL framework to create a standardised approach to managing data effectively Create data models & data flow diagrams to help business understand where our data is stored Advise on future design approach & principles An understanding of Management Information/Business Intelligence/Analytics will be an advantage Work in an agile multidisciplinary team Design and document data catalogues/dictionary Develop robust ETL processes to provision and transform data Act as SME for the SQL Data Platform and its underlying technologies providing support to end users Develop solution options / proof of concepts to various data requirements Design and document flexible and practical data warehouse models to recommended industry standards Develop, embrace and embed best practice ways of working, continuously improving processes and ensuring new approaches are adopted by the team for improved efficiencies Good understanding of data privacy rules and data regulationsProblem Solving & Change:
Ability to think outside the box and challenge existing processes and practices A positive team player that is enthusiastic, energetic and creative Good communication skills with an ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience Confident self-starter, with strong attention to detail Mentor and guide the wider team to transition to adopt a single aligned ETL frameworkKey knowledge and skills required:
Proven track record in a Data Engineering, Data Management or ETL role Data modelling & integration development experience Exposure to a variety of ETL techniques and technologies Advanced knowledge of scheduling and automation Data integration development experience using SSIS, ETL frameworks In-depth SQL knowledge with experience interrogating data from large relational databases Version control e.g. VSTS/TFS or Git Experience working with cloud technologies would be beneficialIdeally:
