Our Analytical Services Team are at the forefront of analytics and innovation, creating a ‘Centre of Excellence’ which produces data assets to support decision making across the Force.To continue to develop a data driven culture at Derbyshire Constabulary, we are looking for a Data Lab Manager to join our Analytical Community on a full time, permanent basis. As the Data Lab Manager, you will lead and develop a team focused on advancing the Force’s analytical capabilities, delivering complex descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analysis, using business intelligence functions and data science. You’ll align analytical workstreams to organisational requirements, developing products that make information easily accessible, as well as maximising the opportunity for automated self-service, through Power BI reporting. As a subject matter expert for data extraction, transform and load, you’ll increase the utilisation and value of data assets across the organisation, implementing your existing knowledge of data architecture, infrastructure and analytical tools, including Microsoft Power BI. Working across all departments and at all levels, you’ll gain an in-depth understanding of our organisation, working with technical experts to construct an infrastructure that consolidates data from a wide range of sources to achieve consistent, quality and reliable data required to support decision making and forecasting.Using your understanding of technology and how it can be leveraged, you will ensure continuous improvement across the department by identifying and reviewing best in class analytical functions, in and outside of policing.As part of your application, you must provide both a CV and Supporting Statement, stating how you meet the essential/desirable criteria as listed in the job description.
