The National GIS Team provide and support spatial data and GIS tools across the organisation to support all of our business areas including Incident Response, Asset Management, Agriculture and Permitting. We deliver through a variety of tools including Easimap2, our in-house GIS view and query tool, ArcMap Desktop and IM Portal, an ArcGIS Enterprise service configured and maintained for Incident Management. We also manage and support access to ArcGIS Online (AGOL).As a GIS Technical Specialist you’ll have opportunities to lead on key elements of our spatial services delivered across the organisation. Responsibilities of the role include: • Supporting, developing & promoting the use of our ESRI spatial platforms and services• Managing our spatial data• Managing and resolving customer requests and service improvements• Developing tools and workflows to help EA staff use GIS services and data effectively to achieve their outcomes We are looking for a GIS Technical Specialist with data and information management expertise. You’ll possess proven ability and/or knowledge of: • Providing technical support for GIS tools, systems and data, and working closely with customers.• Identifying opportunities to reduce effort and duplication in the management of services and/or data.• Working on a common approach on data management activities such as metadata, data quality techniques, data standards and custodianship.You will have training or experience in one or more of the following technologies including:• ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online (AGOL)• ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Pro• A working knowledge of spatial tools such as FME, Python and PostgreSQL would also be desirable
