Applications are invited to join the team delivering Aston University’s apprenticeships. The initial focus would be on our Level 6 Healthcare Scientist Practitioner (audiology) apprenticeship, but you would also be expected to be able to support other current or future programmes.
You will develop and maintain a relationship with the apprentices and their employers, by means of advising on (and monitoring progress with) the integration of academic study with the specific responsibilities associated to the work role of each learner. You will arrange regular tripartite progress review meetings and set study and development goals for each apprentice, in line with individual learning plans, discuss progress and next steps required, monitor recording of work-based learning evidence, and guide apprentices through building the evidence needed for the end point assessment. You will identify and support apprentices who fail to make the expected progress, by helping them develop a recovery plan and monitoring its implementation. Apprentices track their progress on the programme via an online apprenticeship management system, and you will be expected to check and validate progress made, including checking of off-the-job learning logs in accordance with the apprenticeship regulations. The role will involve occasional travel to apprentice workplaces.
We are looking for a candidate with appropriate experience and a sound understanding of the delivery of higher and degree apprenticeships to professionals. You will be required to interpret and align academic programme logistics to apprenticeship requirements, as well as quickly become familiar with the roles of individual apprentices. Experience of working with vocational qualification structures is highly desirable, as is exposure to coaching methods and practices.
This position is available on a full-time basis, but 0.8FTE and job shares would also be considered.
