The Digital Horizons Team is recruiting

Part of Met Intelligence, the Digital Horizons Team sits within Digital Intelligence Services and works alongside its four main departments, Automatic Number Plate Reading (ANPR), Internet Intelligence and Investigation (i3), Communications Intelligence Unit (CIU) and the Digital Operations Team (DigiOps). Each unit exploits a range of different types of digital data in support of criminal investigations and the safeguarding of vulnerable people.

The team’s objectives are to support and improve operational capability through innovation, process engineering, system design, technological acquisition and enhanced access to the best quality data available. Digital Horizons collaborate with our internal partners to understand gaps in service and capability challenges they face before exploring solutions which may range from the development of Apps to manage workflows, re-engineering processes to fit current challenges or the acquisition of new technology to meet current or future operational demands.

The variety of work that Digital Horizons undertakes is extensive and requires the team to be self-learners with the desire and drive to undertake challenging projects that require engaging with subject matter experts from unfamiliar fields. It is vital that we communicate effectively and bring practitioners on a programmes journey to ensure they feel change is something they are part of and not something enforced.

Our team engage with a wide range of external partners including 3rd party companies, intelligence agencies and law enforcement. We conduct research and present at National conferences promoting Digital Horizons, Met Intelligence and the MPS. As individuals and collectively we are not afraid to fail in pursuit of advancing improvement; with our willingness to engage and learn while contributing and sharing our journey key to our success
