Digital Trainer (Analysis, Design & Delivery)

Job at Thames Valley Police in Kidlington, Oxfordshire

The Digital Investigation and Intelligence (DII) Team are a team of Detectives providing digital advice and strategies to officers investigating crime across the Force. Two Digital Trainers also form part of the team and we now have an exciting vacancy for one these Digital Trainer roles.

The successful candidate will have a QCF Level 4 Certificate in L&D or equivalent experience with a proven ability to facilitate learning with the ability to present information and ideas effectively and persuasively to a predominantly Police Officer audience.

We want to stress that we are not looking for a technological expert – we have Detectives who perform this role. You must be able to work with senior officers, DII Detectives and managers to establish a role’s digital policing training requirements, then research new or existing technologies to create easy to understand and engaging training content. The team will work together to understand evolving or emerging technologies.

You will review current digital training, (both L&D and DII Team materials), consider training opportunities that are needed and develop CPD opportunities in support of Force aims and objectives. You will provide specialist digital advice / updates, guidance and assistance to officers and staff on criminal law or procedure.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential as well as the ability to design engaging CPD content. Previous policing knowledge would be desirable.

You must have the capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner; being available to work some evenings and weekends, when required. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, including unsocial hours, public transport may not be available; for this reason, a full UK driving licence is considered essential.

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.

This is an exciting opportunity for a rewarding role within a new and exciting team. If you are interested, please contact DS Ben Cadd on benjamin.cadd@thamesvalley.police.uk to find out more.

As part of the Thames Valley Police family you will enjoy a fantastic range of benefits including 22-30 days annual leave per annum pro-rata for part time (plus Bank Holidays), flexible working conditions, a wide range of lifestyle discounts, career development opportunities and have the option to join a local government pension scheme.
