Overall purpose:
The Fellowships are designed to facilitate the continuation of a research career for post-doctoral researchers with an excellent publication record, experience and an interest in the science carried out in our Institutes. Fellowships provide funding for salary and consumables to support an individual for 2 years, including assistance and funding for obtaining a UK visa
Main Responsibilities:
To plan and carry out research in accordance with agreed project aimsTo attend all project and related research group meetingsTo interact and collaborate with researchers in related projectsWrite-up and publication of work in peer-reviewed journalsTo take an active part in the academic activities of the LMS or LMBTo attend and contribute to journal clubs and seminar presentationsTo present data at national and international meetings (where and when appropriate)To form good working relationships with other members of the group as well as internal and external collaboratorsTo assist others and co-supervise students when requiredTo contribute to the development and maintenance of the group’s experimental or computational infrastructure as appropriate; this may include acting as laboratory manager (in charge of ordering communal supplies, keeping risk assessments up to date, carrying out safety briefings for new starters)Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area, an excellent publication record, and a commitment to scientific excellence.
Substantial experience in an area relevant to the Institute’s research focus is required.
