The role As a Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will carry out preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring that the transmitters, receivers and associated control equipment perform to operational requirements.
Day to day, you’ll:
Support the engineering team in all operational and technical matters. Maintain technical and administrative records and provide information as required. Be proactive in the Safety & Health of self and others who may be affected by work activities. Have an adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations consistent with their responsibilities, observing safe working practices as advised and instructed. Report incidents or hazards which have led or may lead to injury
Essential experience of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer:
Basic record of proven ability in related work. Ability to demonstrate competence in operational and maintenance duties. Competent in solving technical issues and aware of future technical developments.
This role is based full time onsite on Ascension Island. Ascension, like other Overseas Territories and the Crown Territories is not part of the United Kingdom, however the United Kingdom is responsible for the defence, international relations, and internal security of the territory.
Qualifications for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer:
Qualified to BTEC National Diploma in Engineering (Electronic / Electrical) or equivalent.The successful candidate must have SC clearance and be able to achieve DV security clearance level for this role.
