Enforcement Assistant

We’d like someone to be part of an Operational team to enable us to do more. You will support officers with serious and significant investigations into environmental crime and offending. Our work directly helps to protect the environment, communities and legitimate businesses. You’ll also provide support to the Team Leader and Senior officers.You will be responsible for handling incidents or intelligence information sensitively, using computer systems to find information, helping officers process and summarise data and information, helping to ensure we work safely, our wellbeing and culture is positive, supportive and inclusive. Help us maintain our control of enforcement stationary, evidence stores and equipment.You’ll help us maintain good internal relationships with other Operational teams in the Area, our Legal team and external professional partners like the Police and Local Authorities. Be able to work effectively with sensitive information in relation to investigations, communicate well and effectively, with a good eye for detail and great organisational skills. The ability to work unsupervised on occasions and experience of working within a dispersed team would be ideal. You will preferably have experience of providing support, working in a team and assisting people to deliver. A passion for the environment, helping communities and making a difference.You’ll possess;• Good IT skills specifically Excel and Databases.• Good verbal and written communication skills.• Excellent organisational skills.• Knowledge of environmental legislation would be an advantage, but not essential.• Knowledge of investigation legislation such as PACE, CPIA and Legal Disclosure would be an advantage but not essential.We are looking for someone to provide technical and administrative support to the enforcement team. Working with our investigators and legal team the officer will prepare evidence to assist in the submission of high-quality casefiles and may therefore be required to present evidence in court on a few occasions. You may also assist with collating, organising and listing unused material for enforcement investigations and legal disclosure.
