You will be an enthusiastic person who is inquisitive, adaptable and keen to learn. You will be interested in the environment and be eager to protect it. You will ideally have some experience in a customer-focused role and be used to managing multiple pieces of work and motivated to complete it to conflicting deadlines. This may mean dealing with complex and difficult situations. Ideally you will demonstrate the following key skills;• Good communication skills• Ability to influence and persuade others• Decision making• Organise and prioritise a large workload• Adaptability • Competent with computers including MS Excel• Passionate about the environment We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to join our Land and Water Team in Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire as a trainee Environment Officer (EOA). As an Environment Officer you'll be actively involved in regulating activities across a range of sectors, including the water industry and agriculture. You will help ensure sites remain in compliance and take enforcement action against those that fail to comply. The role will also require you to respond to pollution incidents and investigate illegal activities during and outside office hours.This is a challenging front line role and you may need to deal with situations that could be hostile and confrontational. Good communication, influencing and persuading skills are therefore essential.Whatever the sector, whatever the location, the focus remains the same; getting the best outcomes for people and wildlife ensuring that local communities we serve get the best possible service from us.
