How to ApplyWe'll assess you against the competencies below during the selection process. When completing the application form you should present relevant examples using the STAR format. STAR stands for:• Situation• Task• Action• ResultExamples should be given in no more than 250 words for each competency. Please ensure you read the Candidate Information Pack before you begin completing the application form.
Key tasks:Planning and designing evaluations of high priority interventions, working closely with policy and delivery leads to do so.Advising on the development and application of evaluation frameworks, including using theory of change and/or systems mapping to understand the rationale underpinning interventions.Leading on the development and embedding of a quality assurance process for evaluation, including a new Evidence Standard for Evaluation.Delivering workshops, webinars and presentations to support with evaluation planning and raise awareness of evaluation across the organisation.Working with other team members to deliver a programme of evaluation capability building and guidance.Developing strong partnerships with external delivery and policy organisations including with Defra, the wider Defra group as well as appropriate professional bodies, for example the Defra Evaluation Community of Practice and UK Evaluation Society.Maintaining their specialism through ongoing learning and development.
We may use a reserve list of candidates who pass at interview for any future opportunities that arise at the same grade in Natural England where similar skills are necessary.
