We are looking for a Senior Team Leader to help develop and deliver regulatory change relating to Reservoirs, in particular the recommendations from the Balmforth report. As the team leader of the National Office FCRM Reservoir Safety Standards and Incident Team you’ll lead the team, develop and motivate them to deliver results that fulfil the department’s business plan.You will need to be able to draw on your people skills, technical knowledge, using sound evidence to develop guidance and solutions for the national office reservoir safety and operational teams which puts the needs of the public, partners and other users of our services at its heart. You'll ensure that you maintain good links with Defra and colleagues within the other devolved authorities to help you ensure that initiatives that are proposed are achievable and meet customers’ needs. You will have a background or understanding of Flood Risk Management, preferably in Flood Incident Management/Reservoir Safety activities. You'll have a proven ability to lead team members, quickly understand technical and non-technical issues and develop clear and practical solutions to resolve these, and have experience in collecting and analysing a wide range of information for use by different audiences. You will have a clear customer and business focus and be confident and articulate when conveying complicated flood risk issues to a variety of audiences. You'll have an appropriate technical and professional background to degree level or equivalent. Good knowledge of the work area and very strong verbal and written communication skills are required. You must be able to prioritise a varied workload and exercise the ability to work unsupervised and under pressure.
