Faculty Governance and Assurance Manager (Fixed term, Secondment) (SOC

This opportunity is available to existing University of Nottingham employees only on a secondment basis until 8 March 2024.

We have an exciting secondment opportunity to join the operations team in the Faculty of Social Sciences as Governance and Assurance Manager. In this role, you will work closely with senior leadership team, the Heads of Operations, and Operations Managers across the Faculty to develop and coordinate Faculty-wide policies and processes that support compliance, good governance and effective decision-making.  

This role is pivotal and, working closely with the Operations Manager in each of our schools, you will develop policy, processes and procedure documents and share knowledge and expertise in order to coordinate Faculty compliance with University policy, and legal and statutory obligations. 

You will also manage the Faculty PVC’s office, including line management of a small team of Senior Operations Officers and an Operations and Administrative Assistant, and act as secretary, coordinating the business of a number of Faculty-level committees.  

Success will be dependent on your ability to engage and influence colleagues and act flexibly and pragmatically to develop and embed fit for purpose solutions. Therefore, we are looking for a highly motivated manager, with excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to analyse, solve problems, and contribute to a continuous improvement. You will ideally have experience of working in a governance and assurance related role or have an interest in developing expertise in this area. You will thrive in a fast-paced and varied environment, have strong planning and people/project management skills and experience, and have the desire to make a positive difference.

This role is available on a fixed term, secondment until 8 March 2024. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week); however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
