We are looking to recruit a grade 5 flood risk Advisor within the Skills and Quality Assurance team in Evidence and Risk. As part of Evidence and Risk you’ll be on the frontline of providing the evidence to tackle the climate emergency. This role has specific focus on delivering the Flood Risk Modelling Roadmap which is a high profile strategic project, that will set out our future modelling technical requirements based on research, customer requirements, climate change etc. This will ensure we have a long-term plan to deliver the right evidence to inform future risk and investment in Flood and Coastal Risk Management activities going forwards. You will also; • Work with technical experts to help developed new, and maintain existing, model guidance and documentation (including new Residual Uncertainty guidance) • Support the embedding of our modelling Quality Assurance and Standards processes within Evidence and Risk and across the wider business • Support the team with organising and delivering technical skills and development opportunities for colleagues in Evidence and Risk and our customers • Ensure diversity and inclusivity, nurturing others viewpoints and have time to develop yourself Through experience to date you will be able to demonstrate the following; • Technical knowledge of the flood risk modelling used by the Environment Agency and the importance of these in flood risk management • Technical understanding of model types, quality, condition and confidence and the activities different models can be used for • Understanding of the business of FCRM and the importance of evidence and risk. • Experience of delivering strategic projects with internal and external partners • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills where you collaborate and agree expectations to deliver outcomes. • Ability to achieve results, directly and through others. • Experience in prioritising and managing your workload effectively • Good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills • Can build relationships, networks and collaborate to develop, maintain and share
