Are you looking for a change of career?
Have you considered a rewarding new role as an East Riding foster carer?
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is looking for caring resilient individuals to join our community of foster carers.
Just like the children in our care, our foster carers come from all backgrounds and walks of life. Your gender, whether you're single or in a relationship, working, a homeowner or renting are not important. What is important, is having the time and patience to provide a stable home to a vulnerable young person, who may have experienced trauma. You’ll also need to be aged 21 or over with a spare room in your home and the time and energy to meet the emotional needs of a child or young person.
PAYMENTS & SUPPORT
In return you will receive a weekly fee to reflect the type of placement and skills you offer, plus a weekly allowance to cover the costs of caring for a child, such as clothing, food and mileage and additional payments to help with birthdays, Christmas and holidays. Foster carers also receive ongoing training both face to face and online and receive comprehensive support from a dedicated supervising social worker. Members of the fostering household receive free membership to East Riding Leisure Centres.
FOR MORE INFORMATION
We welcome enquiries from people of all religions, races, genders and sexuality. Our foster carers reflect a wide range of circumstances and life experience - for example, you may be married, single, in a relationship, divorced, widowed, employed or unemployed - we assess every application on an individual basis.
