The opportunity We have a number of exciting roles in a major FS&I project that will design a brand-new service for the pension providers NEST. The Functional Process Specialist Manager will work as part of the Operations Team to provide vital knowledge and input to the design, delivery and run of a major element of the business proposition. The role will both support the Finance, Payments & Tax Business Design Team and will post migration, become the BAU functional expert of the tools, applications and processes of the Finance, Payments and Tax Operation for Nest.

As part of the Programme, you will work in close collaboration with a cross-functional team including CX designers, Insight Analysts, Communications Specialists, Business Analysts, Technical Experts and client representatives to define the service. Using your functional processing knowledge, this presents a fantastic opportunity to help shape and be responsible for a critical component of the Atos/Nest Operational Model.

This is a hybrid type of role, the ideal candidate is expected to work 2 days from home and 3 days at the office located in Edinburgh. Flexible working arrangements will be available for the right candidate. Occasional travel is expected to customer and Atos sites UK wide.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include Within the Programme:

Working closely with the client to lead on the definition of processes, procedures and policies and communicating the contexts of the settings in which these will be applied. Providing expertise to the design teams on the project to ensure the content is accurate in relation to Finance, Payments & Tax requirements. Resolving issues relevant to project deliverable(s) within your area of expertise. Providing design attestation of the Financial Solution by the programme. Being committed to the project and participating in the workshops. Providing input to and implementing user documentation and training material. Reviewing and providing attestation to the suitability of the solution as part of Model Office.

Within Business-As-Usual: Act as systems, functional and business process expert for Finance, Payments & Tax. Accountable for approving any changes to the systems and processes within the Finance, Payments and Tax model. Handle and investigate any performance related or Service Level Agreement issues with the functional or operations model. First Point of Contact (FPOC) as the voice of the business for batch. maintenance, monitoring or incident management. Instrumental in identifying continuous Improvement opportunities for the Nest Operating and Service model. Act as deputy to Head of Finance Operations when required.

Skills we can’t do without: Demonstrable knowledge of Financial Product Accounting, Payment and Reconciliation Tools. Previous experience working in Life and Pensions and / or FS roles. Good oral and written communication, which is clear and suited to audience. Good PC skills including MS office and in particular MS excel. Ability to work on own initiative and be self-motivated. Accuracy in performing tasks. Standout colleague who demonstrates good collaboration across team. Good time management, planning and organisational skills, and ability to easily adapt to changing priorities. Ability to plan and work to tight deadlines without compromising accuracy. Positive & flexible attitude. Ability to influence colleagues and key stakeholders in a tactful manner. Client relationship management skills

Skills we’d like: Proven experience in analytical thinking and problem solving. Demonstrated experience of developing FS Product, General Ledger, Reconciliation and Payment Tools. Proven Business or Applications Architecture experience. Experience of working with offshore Financial Operations/Payment Processing Teams. Experience of Service Management in an Operations environment.
