About the Role

If you are an expert in guarantee and/or UK surety bond issuance with strong interpersonal skills, enjoy direct client contact, have first experience in financial analysis area, and ideally international networking experience, then this might be your next challenge:

You will be responsible for servicing our domestic and international Surety clients. This includes timely and accurate handling of client and broker requests and inquiries, issuance of bonds and guarantees, as well as some underwriting tasks such as drafting of underwriting and credit committee proposals. As a member of our EMEA Surety team, you will apply your expertise within our team and support our business development. Furthermore, you will become an active contributor and member of our EMEA International Bonding initiative.

In particular, your responsibilities will include the following:

Closely interact and coordinate with internal stakeholders in Operations and Underwriting, Legal and Compliance located in various regions and markets, as well as with external stakeholders such as clients, brokers, banks and insurers

Support UW in underwriting tasks, client and broker meetings as well as drafting of underwriting and credit committee proposals, preparing facility agreements and being first contact to the client for contract administrative and handling matters

Process and administer bonds and guarantees in systems and tools, including drafting, checking and issuing of such documents at issuance stage and throughout their entire lifecycle including internal and external fronting structure

Administer syndicated loans, co-insurance, risk participation and other complex transactions

Credit & Surety Operations is an emerging team transforming into a trusted partner, closely collaborating with the global Credit & Surety business teams. Our team is spread across many locations in Europe, Asia Pacific, as well as North and Latin America. As part of the transformation, we are implementing a new Operating Model with new roles and responsibilities, standardise and improve processes and implement a new strategic IT landscape.

Education

Completed commercial education preferably banking specialist or completed bachelor degree in economics, accounting, corporate finance or law

Relevant professional experience

Experience with analysis and issuance of surety bonds in UK and other markets, guarantees and SBLCs

Basic knowledge and understanding of surety and guarantee business

Basic knowledge on sanctions and anti-money laundering procedures, commercial and company law, UCP600, URDG758

Previous experience in a client facing role preferably in finance environment (surety or banking)

Linguistics

Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is a must.

Additional languages are a plus (particularly Spanish, French, German)

Technical Competencies

Demonstrates good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Basic Internet knowledge is a must. SWIFT messages for documentary business a plus

Demonstrates competency in intermediate level math, administrative and clerical procedures including handling files and records, general economic and accounting principles, and processes for providing customer service

Excellent reading comprehension, verbal and written

Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, seminars, and internal workshops to learn about new processes and guidelines, learn new skills, and stay updated with the team supported.
