As an HR Policy Manager, you will report into the Deputy Director of HR.  Your role will be to lead on the development, review and implementation of HR policies, ensuring that they reflect best practice and support the delivery of the University’s Strategy and HR Business Plan.  Your work will involve undertaking consultations with HR colleagues and trade unions and manage the process of reviewing and developing new HR policies, ensuring they are compliant with current legislative requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience of HR policy implementation in a large and complex organisation, delivering  successful outcomes.  You will have experience of working with trade unions and staff representatives across all levels and have excellent communication and influencing skills, as well as the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.  You will have strong critical thinking and analytical skills, together with the ability to assess complex situations and initiate action.

As well as having a degree or equivalent and be CIPD qualified or equivalent, you will have an in depth and up-to-date knowledge of employment policies, practices, employment law, ACAS guidelines and extensive experience of their practical application.

We are recruiting two roles, a permanent contract and a 12 month fixed-term contract. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. We are offering hybrid working arrangements with a blended approach of home and office working. Job share arrangements may be considered.
