The Biodiscovery Institute (BDI) is a collaborative and dynamic research facility, spanning labs and office space in 3 large buildings housing staff and students from five schools at the University of Nottingham. Our research addresses important, diverse global challenges ranging from cancer to climate change to Covid-19
The role is challenging, yet varied, with the key aim of providing advice and support for the management of Health and Safety to the Institute occupants based upon a combination of practical and theoretical knowledge and experience
The role seeks to support compliance with relevant legislation through review, development and implementation of policies and procedures to promote a safe and healthy working environment and positive culture for staff, students and visitors. There will be opportunities for professional development.
The role holder is expected to be a dynamic, forward-thinking person who has an adaptable, approachable and communicative in order to coordinate health and safety in a varied fast paced research environment.
An ability to think broadly, have a flexible approach and deliver effectively to milestones and action plans will be essential. The post holder will have skills in team working, collaboration and solo activities, coupled with a high level of self-motivation and drive.
We have a team-orientated approach, and candidates should have excellent interpersonal, organisational, written, and verbal communication skills, and good attention to detail.

This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours).
