Internal Audit- Treasury and Capital Risk AVP

Join us as an Internal Audit - Treasury and Capital Risk AVP at Barclays where you will be a valued member of the audit team, responsible for supporting the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) audit plan. You will work collaboratively with others across BIA to deliver audits, while developing independent client relationships and being seen as a respected voice.

You will execute audit work within the Global team, including performing control design assessments and operating effectiveness assessments. You will prepare audit workpapers and documentation within audit tools. Additionally, you will assist the audit owner in defining the audit scope and testing strategies for the audit. You will also assist with continuous monitoring and audit universe risk assessment. Throughout, you will work collaboratively with other team members across the global Treasury and Capital Risk team.

Essential Skills:

Experience within Financial ServicesExperience in either Internal or External audit, or a strong understanding of risk and control through another role.Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to building effective relationships with stakeholders and the audit team.

Desirable Skills:

Understanding of the Treasury function within a bank, including Liquidity, Capital and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book.Data Analytics experience, and ability to work with large amount of data.

Purpose of the role

To support the development of audits aligned to the banks standards and objectives by working collaboratively with colleagues, providing accurate information and recommendations, and complying with policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management.Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments.Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements.Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers and directors.Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice.
