The role will be based in Reading Domestic Abuse Team. However, with the flexibility to travel during worktime to Windsor Domestic Abuse Team splitting your duties equally between both offices.
The role
Monitor and administrate the DAIU email inboxes, dealing with any enquiries within your capability and tasking anything else to the appropriate person.Respond to phone enquiries coming in to all three DAIU offices (Windsor, Reading and Newbury), providing updates to victims and partner agencies, and directing other enquiries to the most appropriate officer to deal.Assist in the transcribing of 999 call recordings and officers’ body-worn video footage for use in investigation. You will support investigations, which may include assisting team members complete house-to-house enquiries, review CCTV, and support with statements.Assist in the redacting of audio, written and video material for submission to CPS and court. Necessity to attend court to provide evidence (as and when required). Undertake evidence collection to support a mixed team of Detectives and staff across two locations.View CCTV or other media to identify investigative opportunitiesExposure to partnership workingThe essentials
English GCSE (grade 9-1, A-C or Key Skills Level 2 or equivalent)Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft applicationsGood interpersonal and communication skills to interact confidently with both staff and members of the publicProven ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloadsFlexible approach to working as some evening and weekend work might be required on occasion.Capability to travel to different locations and undertake all assignments in a timely manner.Must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential.
