Summary

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Key Account Manager to join us on a permanent basis in support of our UK and European FM Sales Teams. This is a brand new role to the business and will be working closely with our European Commercial Team to manage the domestic operations for specified corporate accounts to become each account's central point of contact here in the UK.

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing sales volume and increasing margin with the key corporate account customer base. The role will complement those who are effective team players with the ability to stand alone and make this position their own.

We’re seeking someone who can work with our central European team but also identify and act upon new opportunities in the UK business services to produce innovative product solutions for the customers. There is no fixed location for the role, but there will be a need to travel to our site in Banbury and internationally on occasions to meet with our European Commercial Team.

Key Skills

Full responsibility to obtain market and pricing data to calculate margins and manage customer accounts/contracts. Focusing on growing and developing existing customers, together with generating new business. Key targets would include the introduction of new products focusing on our value-added products. Understand customer market, capability & position to create a joint business plan to drive growth in all major BC activities e.g. chocolate, cocoa, specialities. Develop positive working relationships with key stakeholders within the customer including, sales, buying, technical, NPD and supply chain. To provide reports on customer and competitor activity including arranging and managing quarterly business reviews with key customers. To liaise about BC product portfolio, obtain technical and legal advice and liaise retrials for new products To co-ordinate all UK marketing activities To ensure customer compliance to agree on terms and conditions. Contract Management - Ensure timely administration of contract bookings and payments including formal follow up with appropriate parties e.g. customer/pricing officer/credit control. Be aware of direct and indirect competitors of BC and take responsibility to share/take action based on this. Good awareness of macroeconomics is needed to build credibility with customers. Act as a spokesperson for Barry Callebaut on any relevant industry bodies.

Qualifications & Experience

A technical degree in a related subject is preferred but not essential. Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal and written including presentation skills, articulate and confident in delivery. Strong account management and relationship-building skills. An ability to manipulate data, with strong computer literacy in all office programs and Google applications as well as Salesforce. Experience of business to business selling is essential within the FMCG or Food Services sector. An ability to analyse and manipulate data, with strong computer literacy in all office programmes - especially Excel (Intermediate level) Experience in analysing market information and forecasting sales opportunities Proven track record of delivering business growth, prospecting and ability to secure positive networking relationships.
