The University of Bradford have recently received funding through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) for an 18 month programme of work entitled Scientific Instrumentation for Business Leadership in Innovation and Growth (SIBLING) (£1.9 m). This exciting project establishes new additive manufacturing and analytical capabilities at the University's City Campus dedicated to delivering 45 discrete Research Projects to West Yorkshire based SMEs starting in October 2023. They are targeted at utilising the existing and newly invested infrastructure alongside established academic expertise from the Faculties of Life Sciences and Engineering and Informatics to help SME with innovation in their processes and product development.
As part of the programme, the University of Bradford is seeking to recruit 2 roles for the duration of the project; (i) a Business Development Manager and (ii) a technician working closely with one another and existing staff at the UoB who will also be working on the project.
The Research Technician will be responsible for generating analytical data acquired on samples to underpin the projects delivered to our regional SME. This will require experience of working with analytical instrumentation across a number of technique areas, though training will be provided in techniques where experience may be more limited. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an academic environment whilst also being exposed to regional industrial contacts.
