Scope and Purpose

As a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo London Regulatory Compliance team, this role is primarily responsible for oversight of the firm's compliance with the FCA's Rules on systems and controls as it is described in the FCA Handbook. • To assist the Head of Regulatory Compliance of the Branch with the day to day activities of managing regulatory risk across the Branch specifically providing product advisory services and conducting a full compliance monitoring programme in accordance with FCA requirements; • To assist in the implementation of Group and Local Compliance policies and procedures in relation to Corporate and Investment banking; • To provide advisory to business or other areas where required • Undertake day to day Compliance risk tasks and handle related queries: • To provide advice in relation to Compliance matters to the Head of Regulatory Compliance and the Local Compliance Officer, ensuring assessment of risk for new products and services; • Ad hoc provision of compliance advice in relation to (i) all aspects of the Branch operations; (ii) Global Markets products (primary and secondary), including Fixed Income, derivatives, futures, structure products and any other deals concluded by the Branch Global Markets team, and (iii) front office; • To assist with the annual review, development and instigation of the comprehensive branch Compliance Monitoring Programme; • Managing relationships and ad-hoc requests from the front office; • Keeping abreast of UK regulatory changes and advising the front office to this respect (and support departments) appropriately; • Assisting with identification and delivery of appropriate training to the Branch employees on UK regulatory topics; • Assisting wider compliance teams on departmental functions, including surveillance, monitoring, policies, training and testing etc; • To perform periodic review of existing Policies and Procedures to ensure they are up to date and compliant with current local and other Supervisory Regulations and guidelines as well as internal Group and Bank related policies, procedures and processes; • To roll out of such Policies and Procedures to the Branch staff and support in training on the subject matter where applicable; • To support the Local Compliance Officer of the Branch in assessment and reporting processing of the Branch Operational Risk; • To support in the preparation and completion of any local regulatory and exchange reporting as well as the Compliance MI; • To manage other ad-hoc tasks. expearcl

Required Experience

• Prior 5 years of experience working within Compliance areas in the Wholesale and Corporate business.

Competencies Required

• University degree in law, finance and/or economics. • Proven knowledge of FCA handbook (COBS, SYSC) and compliance frameworks, policies, procedures and processes (MiFID, EMIR, DoddFrank, Volcker, SMCR, etc.); • Deep understanding of the Corporate and Investment Banking business; • Knowledge of Wholesale and Corporate business as well as correspondent banking and trade finance products and services; • Experience in the production of management information and reports; • Sound presentation skills, and the confidence to influence colleagues at all levels; • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; • Ability to work under pressure and identify Compliance risks; • Microsoft Office capabilities, particularly in Word, Excel and Power Point.
