Lower Thames Asset Performance Advisor - River-wide Technical Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Lower Thames Asset Performance team. We perform an essential role in ensuring that our navigation assets on the Thames are maintained to the required standard and ensuring people and property are protected from flooding by taking the right investment decision at the right time; based upon robust data.You will play a vital role in managing our navigation and flood risk assets from St John’s to Teddington Lock as the River-wide technical lead which will involve some site work. This is a varied role working in partnership with the Lower and Upper Thames Asset Performance teams and others to plan and deliver River-wide projects, including but not limited to vegetation and tree management, carbon initiatives, river-wide maintenance, asset upgrades such as waterpoints and pedestals.You will also be trained in incident response and fulfil an incident role to support our field service operatives during a flood event. We're seeking a self-motivated individual with a solid understanding of asset management and/or flood risk management.It’s important that you’re skilled at managing multiple priorities and competing demands. You will be an excellent communicator and must also understand the importance of teamwork and collaboration. You will either have or willing to work towards a CDM Client certification within the first 6 months of starting the role. Other key requirements for this role include proficiency in data and information management; undertaking work in accordance with health and safety and environmental regulations.Desirable• Formal qualifications in civil engineering, project management (e.g. PRINCE2)• Data and information management (e.g. GIS)• Experience of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015• Experience of Contract ManagementYou will be offered comprehensive induction/training and will be given the time and space to learn while doing the role
