Special Constable (Volunteer Police Officer)

The Metropolitan Police Service are recruiting volunteers to join our Special Constable team. Special Constables dedicate a minimum of 16 hours each month to volunteering alongside our regular police officers and police community support officers to play a vital role in our mission to make London safer.
Special constables wear the same uniform and hold the same powers as our regular officers. Based at one of our 12 Basic Command Units (BCU) located across the 32 London boroughs, you will enjoy a variety of roles and carry out duties such as:
Responding to 999 callsFoot and vehicle patrolsTackling Anti-social behaviourRoad safety initiativesHouse-to-house enquiriesHelping ensure public safety and security at both local and major eventsPresenting evidence in courtTaking part in 'Hotspot' operations to tackle underage drinking, criminal damage and nuisance/public disorderOffering crime prevention advice and promoting property marking initiatives
