Department Profile: The Fixed Income and Commodities Division (FID) is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities component is a market leader across a broad range of commodities markets, with expertise in areas including client risk management, financing solutions and investor products Sales & Trading. Primary Responsibilities: Working closely with the Base Metals and Precious Metals Sales and Trading team globally to expand Morgan Stanley’s physical metals trading capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management and logistics of Morgan Stanley’s physical metals inventory. Responsibilities: Working closely with the Sales and Trading teams to execute physical metals transactions Day-to-day monitoring of physical metals inventory, including warehouse stock holdings and tracking in-transit shipments Updating in-house records to reflect inventory changes Arranging logistics with transportation agents for shipments of both base and precious metals Preparing physical logistics documentation including shipping instructions and warehouse / vault releases Agreeing storage and transportations costs to be sent for payment Ongoing review and update of procedures and best practises Skills required Previous Commodities experience in an Operations environment Degree qualified or equivalent Good understanding of Base and Precious Metals trading Good knowledge of MS Excel required Strong analytical / problem solving skills Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Good attention to detail & organisation skills Confident, self-starter, assertive and energetic Interested in flexible working opportunities?
