We’re looking for a Project Support Officer to join our Chemicals Programme Delivery Team. You do not need a technical background, just an interest in the environment and the skills needed for this support role. The role supports our work to protect the environment from the manufacture, use and disposal of chemicals. Our team is part of the wider Water and Land Quality team, within our Environment and Business function.You will support your team by:•arranging meetings, telecons, webinars and workshops•drafting agendas, taking and writing up meeting notes•providing routine administration of our Sharepoint site•managing a shared email inbox•creating and updating management and communication materials such as presentations, structure charts, process flow diagrams and spreadsheets•procurement (including purchase orders and invoicing) •manage data and information securely•supporting project managers, helping to develop and maintain project documents and systems•being a central point of contact for the teamNote: This is one of two Project Support Officer vacancies in Water and Land Quality, the other post is in the Nutrient (reduction) Strategies Team. If you apply for both roles and are invited to interview, you’ll only need to attend one interview to cover both roles. You will:• have at least 1 years’ experience in a project support or similar role where you’ve provided the type of support listed above• be a motivated self-starter, with a can-do approach • be well organised with good attention to detail • be used to working on your own initiative and an adaptable team player• be comfortable working in a virtual team environment• be able to balance multiple pieces of work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities• be flexible and able to positively respond to changing circumstances• adapt communication style to suit audience • be proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Proficiency in Visio, MS Project and SharePoint is useful, but not essential• experience of the Environment Agency’s contractor procurement systems, purchase orders and invoicing, is desirable but not essential.
