What you’ll do

This role sits within Engineering Operations (EO10), specifically the Centralised Build & Test Planning Team. The department manages build and test submissions from a range of customer teams, through to internal and external facility allocation. It also runs and manages digitalisation projects which govern the build and test facility management and promotes traceability and effective management of activities on a programme level.

The main activity for the role is to manage the Information Centralisation Project (ICP) and support the Manager – Powertrain Test Operations to lead digitalisation projects and produce tangible results to the senior management on a weekly basis. This role encompasses creating short- and long-term spending and budget forecast for fixed internal and external facilities to enable customer test activity across current and future programs. The role will include ownership of programme level data analysis, monitoring and managing build and test submissions. A successful candidate will also support lead build and test planners to achieve KPIs and create dashboards, story maps and technical documents to support continuous improvement activities within the team. Future requirements may include monitoring and reporting on infrastructure projects.

The role requires you to adhere to and generate documents. processes, risk assessments and incubate new projects to be achieved realistically in a high-pressured environment within agreed timelines. It also involves working in a cross-functional environment and facilitate continuous improvement activities within EO10 in addition to pro-actively managing programme level data analytics in order to ensure that productive output is maintained.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

Work with lead test and build planners to ensure adherence and produce long term forecast Effectively present analytics based on empirical data & issues to a varied audience including senior stakeholders Deliver annual and long-term budgeting plans on Tableau using multiple data sources and prep data Support delivery of build and test plan analytics by amalgamating based on commodity/ sub-system Manage ongoing projects on Wrike and Tableau Produce KPIs for team and reports to senior management Support internal process documentation maintenance and governance (JLR Way) To support continuous improvement activity with the goal of improving test efficiency and/or product quality To e.g., IATF TS16949, OHSAS18001, ISO 14001support activities that result in a positive outcome from any audit, Undertake any other work as directed by senior manager in connection with their job as may be requested

What you’ll need


Long- and short-term analytics with a pragmatic approach 2+ years of experience in data analysis using Tableau and project planning tools such as Wrike, JIRA and Confluence Proven experience in creating visualisations using Python and data analysis using SQL and Google BigQuery Experienced in management of peer(s) and leading the team with a proactive attitude Project planning, data analysis, management and version control experience and/or qualification Able to work independently, as well as achieve the full benefits of collective effort from a wider team Adaptable to a rapidly evolving and fast-paced environment whilst displaying positivity, agility and resilience Experience of process mapping and Agile project management framework Confidently support with sprint ceremonies, especially backlog refinement and sprint planning Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes Ability to accurately and concisely present complex ideas or project issues to a diverse audience Customer-first attitude with a passion for continuous improvement Initiating ideas and solutions to save cost, time and effort of the wider business Ability to dispute existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience A full UK driving license with less than 6 penalty points, no disqualification


Technical expertise of Wrike, Workato or any other automation tools Experience in GCP, ETL, Infrastructure code and server management or data engineer role Posses Tableau Data Analyst / Tableau Server certification Experienced or trained in Agile methodologies, Six Sigma, Black Belt and Green Belt Training and certification. Experience with IATF16949, TS16949 or ISO9001 standards and requirements Educated to Degree level in a Planning, Systems, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic or related field Knowledge of Python, SQL or other API to support digital transformation
