Out of Hours Crisis Worker

Are you a compassionate, understanding individual able to offer reassurance when dealing with stressed or vulnerable people?Are you confident in providing advice and guidance on a one to one basis and/or a group?Do you have experience of working in a confidential and sensitive environment?If so we would like to invite you to apply for our vacancy for an Out of Hours Crisis Worker. This part-time opportunity would be working 2 hours per week and on call at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) Juniper Lodge delivering a service that supports victims of rape and sexual assault on behalf of the Strategic Partnership Board. This is a unique role, working alongside a forensic medical team. Flexibility and the requirement to use your own vehicle to attend the SARC within 45 minutes of being called out will be required around covering the shifts, as you will form part of an established Crisis Worker team.At the SARC you will deal with face to face, telephone and e-mail enquiries from the public and other agencies. You will also be responsible to escalate direct referrals that require a police response and provide information to partner agencies.Our police staff work side by side with police officers and make a real difference to people’s lives.
