Partnership & Strategic Overview Statutory Team Leader

We are the Environment Agency. We work in partnership with government, local councils, businesses and communities to reduce flood risk and manage the impacts of climate change.The Partnership and Strategic Overview (PSO) team works as part of our flood family. Our Statutory work portfolio delivers a range of key regulatory obligations including responding to planning consultations, assessing and issuing environmental permits, and providing a data custodian role, managing river models and responding to ‘requests for information’.We are recruiting a third PSO Team Leader for our growing team. The preferred candidate will be a decisive leader, responsible for taking an overview of the statutory portfolio, tasking others, tracking and monitoring deadlines for effective workload management and escalating delivery risks and issues to the PSO Team Leaders and FCRM Board for timely intervention. They will also be passionate about people, their wellbeing and development and the work we do to reduce flood risk, ensuring the team has resilience and the capability and confidence to deliver. You’ll be confident in providing direction and be able to articulate business needs effectively whilst bringing others with you. You'll be able to balance demands on the team from internal and external sources to help prioritise and manage workloads and deliver outcomes.You'll have strong leadership skills and experience of leading people. This may be through non-team leader roles such as project management or technical specialist/leader role. You’ll recognise diversity within and around the team and be mindful of the team’s wellbeing.
