This is a senior technical specialist role required to support East Riding of Yorkshire Council in the development and delivery of the c£36m Defra funded Coastal Transition Accelerator Project. This ambitious project seeks to improve and replace damaged infrastructure, repurpose land in coastal erosion zones and develop the local planning system to support and facilitate adjustments from at-risk land. Project duration 2022 to 2028. Working with other risk management authorities and infrastructure providers, you will build and maintain strong working relationships at an organisational and community level. It’s an exciting time and we need your help to ensure we’re prepared for any future flooding and coastal change. We are looking for an individual with a strong track record and proven experience of working with and building effective working relationships with others preferably in a coastal change environment. Communication will be key to the success of this role along with good knowledge of coastal processes. You will have the ability to influence and persuade others, be self-motivated and have a genuine drive to achieve results working either alone or as part of the team. You must be able to understand the political landscape and have an awareness of potential impacts on the local economy. Experience of the development planning system would be an advantage. The successful candidate must have experience of prioritising workloads and managing stakeholders and stakeholders’ expectations.A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
