Job Title: People Coordinator
Contract: 12 Months FTC
Work Pattern: 37.5 Hours Per Week
Location: Merchants Warehouse, Manchester - (Hybrid Working)
Our People Team delivers our people strategy while providing colleagues with a positive working experience. In this critical role in People Services, you will work closely with other Coordinators to make sure that all processes in relation to colleagues joining, changing circumstances, or leaving are carried out in an accurate, timely and professional manner. This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract with the potential to be Permanent.
Key Responsibilities:Solely co-ordinate people service processes for a large business area within Pharmacy operations (Division 2 – c. 2,000 colleagues) working closely with the Division 2 People Advisor and People Business Partner.Coordinating the end-to-end people lifecycle processes, including onboarding, probationary periods, employment experiences, and leaver processing.Completing pre-employment checks, including visa’s where necessary and liaising closely with the resourcing team and the candidate to ensure a smooth new joiner experience.Completing offer packs, and contracts of employment.Applying payroll adjustments or approvals where necessary, including sickness, parental leave, overtime, and salary amendments.Ensure all letter, forms and contract templates are up to date with internal information and current legislation.With your team, manage the People Services calendar and inbox, and cover workload when required for other business areas.Proactive interaction with hiring managers, stakeholders, and the Well Leadership Team, building tight relationships.Be readily available during Manager Divisional Meetings to ensure any People actions are acted upon.Managing Pharmacists DBS checks for your business area, ensuring checks are completed in a timely manner before the candidates join date. Chase the relevant stakeholder and/or candidate during delays.Coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process for new joiners at our airport locations, including liaising with WHSmith to ensure the relevant DBS checks, training, security interviews and parking is arranged.Provide relevant advice and guidance to colleagues and managers, on request, on policies and procedures.Undertake administrative services in an efficient and accurate manner, including reference requests, letters, and system amendments.Undertake special projects as and when directed by the People Business Partner
Problem Solving & Change:Be able to work independently, solving most queries based on experience, but gaining advice from senior colleagues in more complex requests and challenges.Be able to forward plan for up to 3-6 months, managing and prioritising own workload.Operate within standardised practises and procedures but be able to adapt quickly to change.Required where possible to achieve first point resolution to improve customer and manager satisfaction.
Key knowledge and skills required:Experience with people processes at a similar level is desirableEducated to degree level or equivalent (desirable)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organisational skillsAble to independently prioritise own workloadAble to work under pressure in a professional manner
