## Unlock Your Potential: A Rewarding Opportunity within the University of Nottingham's School of Pharmacy

Are you an existing employee of the University of Nottingham looking for a role that offers both impact and professional growth? The School of Pharmacy's Placements Team is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and collaborative individual to join them in a pivotal new role. This is an exceptional chance to contribute to an innovative and welcoming academic environment, directly enhancing the student experience within a vital area of their academic journey.

This position offers a unique opportunity to become an integral part of a forward-thinking team, with a specific focus on the financial administration of student placements. You will be instrumental in shaping and streamlining processes related to student travel claims, a new initiative for pharmacy students commencing in 2025. Your expertise in navigating the NHSBSA Travel & Dual Accommodation Expenses (TDAE) scheme will be crucial in ensuring efficient and accurate claim processing.

Key Responsibilities and Advantages for Candidates:

  • Become a Specialist: Take the lead in mastering the NHSBSA platform, becoming the go-to expert for processing student travel claims. This deep dive into a specific, impactful system will develop valuable transferable skills.
  • Shape New Processes: As this scheme is new, you will have a significant influence on establishing internal procedures and providing essential guidance to students and staff. This is a chance to actively contribute to the evolution of the School's placement support.
  • Enhance Student Experience: Your work will directly impact the ease and success of student placements, a critical component of their professional development. You'll be a key support for students navigating this important phase.
  • Develop Interpersonal Skills: Acting as a point of contact for students and external placement providers will hone your communication, problem-solving, and professional relationship-building abilities.
  • Broaden IT Proficiency: Beyond core MS Office skills, you'll gain experience with specific university and potentially external platforms, enhancing your digital toolkit.
  • Contribute to a Progressive Environment: Join an innovative and welcoming school where your contributions are valued and directly support student success.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

This role is ideal for an individual who thrives on detail, enjoys problem-solving, and possesses strong organizational skills. If you are adept at working independently while also being a collaborative team player, this position will offer significant satisfaction.

  • Attention to Detail: The ability to meticulously check and authorize claims, ensuring adherence to guidelines, is paramount. This role demands accuracy and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: As you'll be working with a new system and potentially managing queries under pressure, adaptability and the capacity to maintain accuracy are vital attributes.
  • Strong Communication: You will need to clearly explain processes, resolve queries, and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, external providers, and internal colleagues.
  • Proactive Engagement: A positive attitude and a proactive approach to building and maintaining professional relationships will be key to success in this student-facing role.

This is a fixed-term position for two years, offering a full-time workload of 36.25 hours per week. The University provides a hybrid working arrangement, blending office and home-based work to support work-life balance. As a valued University employee, you will benefit from an excellent package including:

  • A generous 27 days' holiday allowance (plus additional University closure days).
  • Access to fitness and health facilities.
  • Attractive staff discount and travel schemes.
  • A highly competitive pension scheme.

This internal vacancy is a fantastic opportunity for a University of Nottingham employee to gain new skills, contribute to a vital service, and further their career within a supportive and dynamic environment.
