About you
Objectives
Working on marine renewable energy projects you will join our team of metocean and numerical modelling specialists, who provide metocean analyses supporting projects from pre-feasibility through to construction. You will be managing and delivering metocean and oceanographic studies, generating, analysing, and reporting metocean data to support engineering design.
You will also be part of the team continually advancing and delivering our SEASTATES and Weather Downtime Services as well as applying your skills and experience to other sectors including port and coastal developments.
Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced metocean specialist who is confident in applying their technical expertise to the quantification and assessment of oceanographic data. Expertise in numerical modelling would be an advantage.
Project management and client engagement Delivering metocean assessments Contributing to internal research and development initiatives Preparing proposals and tenders
Requirements
You have:
An established career as an oceanographer in consultancy and/or developer organisations A background in physical oceanography and the production of metocean assessments A degree (and preferred, postgraduate degree) in a relevant discipline
You are efficient, highly organised, self-motivated and work collaboratively in a commercial technical organisation, and are skilled in the following:
Collation and interpretation of marine data and information Application of coastal, estuarine and shelf sea oceanographic processes knowledge and understanding when completing assessments Analysis and presentation of metocean data including use of GIS, MATLAB or other programming / scripting Report writing, presentation and communication Project management An appreciation of offshore and coastal engineering and maritime operations (beneficial) Numerical modelling of waves and hydrodynamics would be an advantage

Our offices are based at Town Quay in Southampton, with fantastic views overlooking Southampton Water. We recognise the importance of a good work-life balance and offer flexible and hybrid working. Remote working will also be considered.
