Job at Swiss Re in Vancouver, Clark County, 98665

Join a team of cyber security professionals and help Swiss Re to fulfil its mission in making the world more resilient. As the Product & Engineering Director of Swiss Re's cyber security solutions, you'll be a member of the security leadership team and work closely with security, operations, governance, and business stakeholders – to drive the strategic evolution of our cyber security services. You will own a portfolio of products which enable and underpin these services, and you will be accountable for their engineering and further development. What's more, you'll be working in a hybrid setup, perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises.

About the team

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cyber security engineering and operations, governance, risk & compliance, group operational resilience, and corporate security. We define and implement the company's security strategy. As a part of the Security Team, the Cyber Security Products & Engineering unit envisions Swiss Re's strategic cyber security capabilities and implements/develops the corresponding solutions across all our businesses globally. We are looking for a highly experienced cyber security professional with a broad and strong background in security engineering who'll help us bolster the development of our cyber defence and (ideally) client-facing solutions in both the B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer) spaces.

In your role, you will…

Own and develop the portfolio of cyber security products and solutions which safeguard Swiss Re and our clients against cyber-related threats and risks (i.e., solutions in the area of Monitoring, Detection & Response, Vulnerability Management, Cloud Security, Data Protection, Identity & Access Management, Privileged Access & Credential Management, Authentication & Authorization, Customer IAM, Access Control, Data Protection, Business Continuity Management, Third Party Cyber Risk Management, etc.)

Develop the vision and drive the strategic evolution of the above-mentioned products & services portfolio

Lead, inspire and develop a team of approx. 130 product and engineering team members in an agile, high-autonomy environment

Foster our agile engineering culture by growing and nurturing strong internal development teams

Report to the Security Team Leader and actively contribute to the development of our overall strategy as an active member of the leadership group

Contribute to operational activities (i.e., audits, security incidents, compliance reviews, budget & resource planning, etc.) and the further development of Swiss Re's cyber security discipline by providing insight and thought leadership on the services you own

Your qualifications

What we need from you

A passion for security and building high-performing engineering organisations

Extensive experience (8+ years) in developing holistic strategies and implementing relevant cyber security products and solutions (i.e., in Detection & Response, Vulnerability Management, Data Protection, IAM, PAM, CIAM, Authentication & Authorization, BCM, Privacy, and third-party risk management, etc.)

Familiarity with relevant cyber security designs and implementations in public cloud environments (e.g., Azure, Ali, AWS)

Experience in operating in agile environments and utilising objective frameworks, such as OKRs, and building alignment and autonomy across the product and engineering community

Proven track record in security engineering and enterprise security architecture

Practical experience in application development

Strong people management, engineering, and leadership skills

Distinct communication and pronounced stakeholder management skills

Fluency in spoken and written English

Exposure to agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.)
