This ambitious initiative represents a unique opportunity for professionals to contribute to a next-generation data experience designed to empower scientists, engineers, and decision-makers. The Onyx team operates as a full-stack entity, encompassing product and portfolio leadership, data engineering, infrastructure and DevOps, data/metadata/knowledge platforms, and advanced AI/ML and analysis platforms.

The core mission of Onyx is to build a cutting-edge data ecosystem that drives innovation and efficiency within GSK's R&D efforts. This includes not only enhancing productivity by minimizing time spent on "data mechanics" but also providing best-in-class AI/ML and data analysis environments. The ultimate goal is to accelerate predictive capabilities, attract top-tier talent, and unlock the immense value within GSK's combined data assets and predictions in real-time.

Within this dynamic environment, the Onyx Product Management team plays a pivotal role. They are instrumental in shaping the strategic roadmap for all customer-facing aspects of Onyx, from infrastructure and platforms to data assets and analysis environments. This involves close collaboration with R&D stakeholders and Onyx leadership to ensure maximum impact on R&D outcomes.

The Opportunity: Product Manager II - Molecule Design

We are actively seeking an experienced Product Manager II to lead and deliver the roadmap for molecule design products. This role is critical in forging a cohesive, enterprise-level strategy for molecule design solutions, ensuring that GSK scientists have access to world-class technology to enhance research productivity and ultimately bring new medicines to patients faster.

Key Responsibilities and What You'll Do:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap Contribution: Play a key role in defining and executing specific features and components within the molecule design solutions roadmap, ensuring alignment with the overarching product strategy.
  • User-Centric Development: Conduct user interviews, gather feedback, and analyze user data to inform product enhancements and drive iterative improvements in molecule design tools.
  • Product Feature Definition: Collaborate with Senior Product Managers and engineering teams to translate complex user needs into clear, actionable product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Agile Delivery: Actively participate in agile ceremonies, ensuring engineering teams have a thorough understanding of product requirements and supporting effective backlog management.
  • GenAI Integration: Support the strategic integration of Generative AI (GenAI) capabilities within molecule design tools. This includes contributing to the definition and implementation of next-generation AI-powered functionalities, particularly within AI Agents. You'll assist in the design and testing of human-agent interaction components, focusing on conversational flows and user interface elements, and contribute to the product lifecycle of individual models or agents.
  • Technical Collaboration: Engage in highly technical product discussions with engineering leaders, translating ambiguous scientific objectives into precise requirements for foundational models, vector databases, and multi-agent system architectures.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Coordinate effectively with various teams, including R&D scientists, DevOps & Infrastructure, data engineering, computing platform engineering, and data & knowledge platform engineering, to ensure seamless product execution and alignment.
  • Product Launch & Performance: Assist with product launch activities, including documentation and training materials, and monitor key product metrics to identify areas for optimization.

Advantages for Candidates:

  • Impactful Work: Directly contribute to the discovery of new medicines, impacting the health of potentially millions worldwide.
  • Cutting-Edge Technology: Work with state-of-the-art AI/GenAI technologies, cloud-native architectures, and advanced data platforms.

  • Collaborative Environment: Be part of a diverse, cross-functional team dedicated to innovation and scientific advancement.
  • Innovation Hub: Contribute to a major GSK investment designed to be a transformative force in pharmaceutical R&D.

Key Considerations for Candidates:

  • Technical Fluency: A strong understanding of AI/GenAI concepts, including LLMs, vector databases, MLOps, and retrieval-augmented generation is essential.
  • Product Lifecycle Experience: Proven experience in shipping 0-to-1 software products, particularly those powered by AI/GenAI.
  • Cloud & API Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure) and API design is crucial.
  • Scientific Acumen: While not strictly required, a background or keen interest in bioinformatics, computational biology, or cheminformatics will be highly beneficial for understanding the scientific domain.
  • Agile Mindset: Comfort and experience working within agile development frameworks.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven Product Manager to shape the future of drug discovery at GSK. If you are passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex scientific challenges and have a proven track record in product management, we encourage you to explore this role.
