New recruits to the Civil Service joining MoJ are expected to join at the band minimum. This position is available for external applicants as well as existing civil servants on level transfer or promotion. Secondments and loans will be considered on an individual basis. This appointment will be made on a fixed term appointment, due to the time limited nature of the Reform Programme. Background:
The courts and tribunals in England and Wales have been allocated unprecedented funding of over £1billlion. This will enable HM Courts & Tribunals Service, working in partnership with the judiciary, to create a system that is proportionate and accessible and that better meets the needs of the people it serves. This is the most ambitious programme of its kind anywhere in the world.
The Reform Programme is made up of pillars that cover the primary areas of courts reform. This role sits within the Civil, Tribunals and Family Programme which consists of a number of projects at different lifecycle stages. There are a number of vacancies across the programme and skill sets are expected to include all or some of the following, technical development, procurement and stakeholder engagement in a project management environment.
As a Project Manager you will be at the forefront of leading and implementing change in our world-leading justice system. The Reform Programme is ambitious, and we need resilient, resourceful and adaptable people to make it happen, who have a proven track record in Project Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and document project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.Effectively set and communicate project expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.Develop a sound project plan that suitably identifies resources and project outputs.Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.Take ownership and responsibility in terms of time, quality and cost for all assigned projects or workstreams in larger projects.Execute project lifecycle in accordance with in-house processes, embracing Agile project delivery.Take an active role in supporting procurement of third-party services and ensuring commercials are adequate for delivering.Provide effective risk management.Other Duties:
You’ll need to work in a flexible way and undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the head of profession which are commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.

The successful candidate/s will be required to travel to London, however base location can be flexible. Travel to other HMCTS sites may also be required as part of these working arrangements. In line with the department’s policies, travel and subsistence and, where appropriate, overnight accommodation will be available in line with organisational policies.

Terms & Conditions:
Fixed Term Appointment
This appointment will be made on a fixed term basis, due to the time limited nature of the Reform Programme.
For existing civil servants, whilst the role itself is time limited, at the end of the fixed term period, you will retain your permanent status but will be placed on the re-deployment register. Successful appointment on promotion will secure this grade on a permanent substantive basis.
Secondments and loans will be considered on an individual basis.
