THE OPPORTUNITY

An exciting opportunity has become available within our Indirect Procurement (IP) function to lead a team of Buyers responsible for Engineering Services and Contract Manufacturing. The team is responsible for the procurement of multiple time and material as well as deliverables based projects, across a number of key stakeholder groups within the Jaguar Land Rover business.

There is a strategic opportunity to review potential synergies with our Tata group companies for Overseas Design and Engineering Centres in India. Key stakeholders are Product Development teams within Jaguar Land Rover, as well as Research, Design, Advanced Manufacturing and Global Vehicle Testing facilities has Global responsibility for procuring time and material contracts, deliverables based contracts and facilities, as well as some bespoke material for our Design colleagues.

In addition, the role responsibility for the contract management of the Magna Steyr contract in Graz which produces our ePace and iPace vehicles, which also aligns well with the strong links with the New Jaguar program integration of design and development with the Magna Steyr Engineering Team.

The role is responsible for working closely with key stakeholders to define both Strategy and Sourcing, as well as associated contract management and supplier relationship management, the role requires a high level of interaction with internal senior stakeholders and external suppliers. The successful candidate will need to be a flexible team player, with excellent communication skills and a high degree of commercial acumen.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Overall responsibility and leadership for all Purchasing activities within Category, including.

• Accountable for providing management, leadership and direction for their category team of Category Buyers to ensure objectives are met. • Implement continuous improvements in purchasing activities by supporting Centre of Excellence initiatives / activities and support of Reimagine and Pillar 9 – responsible spend • Accountable for internal stakeholder alignment for all category activities, including key focus on regional inputs and regional deployment for the category • Accountable for global category strategy development and deployment to deliver company cost and quality targets within the Global markets for the category • Responsible for sourcing in line with Strategy Category Plan (SCP) through the Global Sourcing Process (GSP) to the point of Contract / Purchase Order for the category • Accountable for the end to end: (Strategy, Sourcing and Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management) within the assigned categories. • There will be a mixture of tactical and strategic purchasing activities

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities • Work with internal stakeholders and supplier representatives to develop and deliver procurement strategies to purchase services; delivering value for money and fit-for-purpose solutions. • Manage numerous Stakeholders and determine best fit procurement route per project • Manage a varied stakeholder group in developing strategic activities which form Strategic Category Plans (SCPs). • Develop the optimal supply base consistent with the Strategic Category Plans (SCP) content. • Manage supplier relationships and supplier performance • Manage, plan and deliver annual budget savings • Engage closely with key stakeholders to maximise Purchasing influence and ensure alignment with Purchasing processes and policy • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested. WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential: • Previous experience in Indirect Procurement. • Global outlook with experience of dealing with an international supply base. • Skilled and experienced negotiator in commercial issues including terms & conditions • Excellent relationship management skills • Strong project management and organisational skills • Effective communicator at all levels, strong influencing skills.

Desirable: • Previous people management experience. • Relevant degree or equivalent
