The Opportunity

The Indirect Procurement (IP) Global Commercial Services team is responsible for the procurement of all JLR Commercial Services this includes Creative Advertising, Media, Auto shows and Events, Sponsorship, Talent, Market Research, Customer Service, Digital Marketing Services, Road Side Assistance, Electrification Services and Retailer / Dealership requirements. These categories are procured centrally via a UK based team but also in market by a global network of National Sales Company Procurement Managers based in region that work seamlessly with the UK based team.

This role, has strong links to Jaguar Land Rover Marketing activities and has Global responsibility for procuring a wide range of services for the Global Jaguar Land Rover Marketing community that includes Experiential (Auto shows / Media Drives / Events), Research, Sponsorship, Digital Marketing Services and Talent. Taking responsibility for sourcing, as well as associated contract management and supplier relationship management, the role requires a high level of interaction with internal stakeholders and external suppliers / marketing agencies. The successful candidate will need to be a flexible team player, with good communication skills and a high degree of commercial acumen.


Overall responsibility and leadership for all Purchasing activities within Category, including;

• Accountable for providing management, leadership and direction for their category team of Category Buyers to ensure objectives are met. • Implement continuous improvements in purchasing activities by supporting Centre of Excellence initiatives / activities • Accountable for internal stakeholder alignment for all category activities, including key focus on global and regional inputs + the global and regional deployment for the category • Accountable for global category strategy development and deployment to deliver company cost and quality targets within the Global markets for the category • Responsible for sourcing in line with Strategy Category Plan (SCP) through the Global Sourcing Process (GSP) to the point of Contract / Purchase Order for the category • Accountable for the end to end: (Strategy, Sourcing and Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management) within the assigned categories. • There will be a mixture of tactical and strategic purchasing activities • Responsible for the performance, wellbeing and development of team members

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities • Work with internal stakeholders and supplier representatives to procurement strategies to purchase marketing services, events, talent and sponsorship activations; delivering value for money and fit-for-purpose solutions. • In collaboration with Stakeholders, determine best fit procurement routes per project • Manage a varied stakeholder group in developing strategic activities which form Strategic Category Plans (SCPs). • Develop the optimal supply base consistent with the Strategic Category Plans (SCP) content. • Manage supplier relationships and supplier performance • Manage, plan and deliver annual budget savings • Engage closely with key stakeholders to maximise Purchasing influence and ensure alignment with Purchasing processes and policy • Within the team: leading, developing and supporting team members to reach their potential and deliver excellent results. • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential: • Previous experience in Indirect Procurement. • Global outlook with experience of dealing with an international supply base. • Skilled and experienced negotiator in commercial issues including terms & conditions • Excellent relationship management skills • Strong project management and organizational skills • Effective communicator at all levels, strong influencing skills.

Desirable: • Previous people management experience. • Relevant degree or equivalent
