As a Scrum Master, your role will be to facilitate and develop the maturity of agile within the Squad(s) to develop, support and deliver to connect the SD Worx UK and Ireland business products to the wider SD Worx infrastructure.
Your main tasks and activities will include
Facilitating processes and ceremonies
Facilitate Scrum events for the Squad, from sprint planning to retrospectives, etc. Track progress and achievement of the Squad goals at daily stand-ups using burndown charts/cumulative flow diagrams Coordinate interaction with other Squads of one's own and other tribes (e.g. during Quarterly Tribe Review planning or other tribe Squads synchronization ceremonies) Help the Product Owner in managing the Product Backlog, e.g. by sparring with him/her on splitting user stories, identifying dependencies etc. Help the team with the administration of the backlog (e.g. remote boards, updates of task status etc.) Help other Squads and conventional parts of the organization build effective communication and interaction with the SquadSquad development and Agile process support
Leading, training, and coaching the Squad in its scrum adoption and practices Ensure continuous improvement of Scrum events and practices, teaching new techniques to the Squad as needed Create and maintain an atmosphere of trust through facilitation of retrospectives and feedback exchange among Squad members Clear obstacles in the Squad's path (such as dependencies on other Squads), maintain a list of obstacles Contribute to Squad product development to the extent of her or his competence Development or Quality role support - the Squad focuses on back-end development and will require additional programming or QA skills focused on; C#, writing and undertaking unit and integration tests. Be part of delivery: Utilise your development or quality analysis skills approx. 50% of the time within the squad to support the completion of backlog work, maintaining your technical skills and sharing skills with squad members.
Essential Skills and Experience Required
Ability to facilitate and promote working in an Agile environment and building the maturity of the Squad. Ability to perform to agreed time scales and to department and development standards following an Agile/Scrum methodology. Confident and effective handling of internal customer relationships at whatever levels evidenced by the achievement of successful collaboration over the achievement of objectives. Ability to plan and manage own work items, identify risks and escalate appropriately. Problem identification and the exercising of sound judgement in their resolution. Ability to self-upskill including on new technologies and specialist skills e.g., quality analysis or programming languages as required to support the needs of SD Worx. A passion for delivering innovative software development solutions.
Desired Experience
Basic programming skills in C# including writing unit and integration tests. Basic Quality Analyst skills include experience in software testing with understanding of tracking and versioning systems (TFS, Git, Azure DevOps, ...) and testing software such as MTM, Browser Stack, Ranorex, Azure DevOps, Postman, … Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery principles.
