About the Team and Role

The Underwriting (UW) & Costing Service Area is the place where data driven connected IT services supporting business process management (BPM), exposure management and costing needs related to processing insurance submissions are being developed. Those key services support different business platforms used by underwriting teams to ingest and process submission information so that quotes can be produced optimising turn around time.

We are a distributed team of Product Owners and Requirement Engineers/Business Analysts with a broad understanding of commercial insurance processes and service oriented IT architecture. With this mix of skills we steer the work of several IT development teams using agile work practices.

We are looking for a Senior Product/Service Owner who will steer the work of a distributed team of IT professionals who develop the IT services supporting different Business Process Management (BPM) platforms.

Your responsibilities include

Managing the backlogs of up to two development squads setting objectives and goals, breaking down concepts into manageable achievable steps. You will continously prioritise the work to be done based on business value, optimally balancing functional requirements, reduction of technical debt and cyber security related improvements.

Nurturing a network of partners in the Key Services, Business Platforms, Data & Analytics and Digital Transformation units of CorSo. You will be working in a fast-paced environment engaging frequently with this network to develop innovative and impactful proposals that will provide better software solutions for our Underwriters. With other Product Owners, Requirement Engineers, Scrum Masters and domain experts you will analyse, understand and solution complex business requirements.

Developing a keen understanding of the business data being ingested, processed and enriched by the IT services whose development you steer.

Using your knowledge as an insurance BPM expert to connect individual IT services so as to support simple and sophisticated underwriting processes.

About You

We are looking for a highly committed, energetic, proficient and reliable individual. Do you enjoy interacting with people and show a can do and hands on attitude when working with customers and colleagues? Are you eager to work in an agile environment?

Minimum 3-5 years of experience with development of BPM solutions in financial industry, degree from an academic institution in computer science, natural sciences or economics would be preferred.

Strong interest and previous experience with product management activities.

Previous programming experience in building web services would be useful however you will not be expected to program IT services yourself.

Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills with the ability to conceptualise and generalise individual requirements towards scalable generic solutions.

Understanding of service driven IT architecture.

Able to design individual web services and know how to connect them to model complex processes.
